Retail & Consumer Services
Athletic Apparel and Equipment
Sojitz Corporation of America has been working with NIKE for more than half a century, beginning in 1971 when the company was still Blue Ribbon Sports. Partnering with Nike Strength, operated by authorized NIKE, Inc. licensee Dimension 6 Fitness Corporation, is one of the latest exciting business collaborations to evolve from this long-lasting relationship.
Sushi & Seafood
In July 2024, Sojitz Corporation of America acquired Minnesota based Sushi Avenue and its supermarket takeout sushi business. With over 300 retail locations across the U.S., Sushi Avenue sells freshly prepared takeout sushi at supermarkets in over 20 states. In addition, Sushi Avenue has developed its own private brand labels tailored to retailers, showcasing that one of the company’s strengths is its flexibility to meet the needs of supermarket retailers and consumers.
To strengthen its seafood portfolio, Sojitz acquired Marine Foods in March 2022 in Japan. In January 2024, Marine Foods established MF America to expand its seafood business overseas. With a focus on quality, Sojitz is committed to taking a customer-driven approach while building its food value chain in the seafood product businesses.
Healthcare Logistics
In 2023, Sojitz Corporation of America entered the healthcare logistics sector in Peru by acquiring equity interest in BNS Latin Invest S.A.C. (BNS). BNS is the holding vehicle of Salog S.A. (“Salog”) and Salutare Solución Integral en Salud S.A.C. (“Salutare”). Salog has a healthcare logistics contract with EsSalud, Peru’s social security healthcare provider responsible for public health insurance and medical care for the country’s private labor force while Salutare is engaged in providing healthcare inventory and logistics operations in Peru’s private healthcare sector. Salog has provided inventory management, packaging, and delivery services for pharmaceuticals and other products in the Lima and Callao area since 2010. Salog manages pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory of approximately 7,000 SKUs at a central warehouse. A proprietary inventory management and delivery system uses demand forecasting to reduce excess inventory and out-of-stock items for 55 hospitals (roughly 6,000 beds) and over 700 affiliated private pharmacies. Since 2019 Salog has been focused on delivering prescriptions to patients’ homes or local drug stores. This has significantly reduced wait times and resulted in higher customer satisfaction and better healthcare access.
